Q&A with Daniel Martin, Business Solutions Center Account Manager

We use WPS's Web site to get general energy-saving tips and ideas. Is there a section where we can get energy-related information specifically about our company?
Yes. My Account Overview is an excellent resource that offers access to personalized billing and energy information for your account. With a few mouse clicks, you can:
  • View up to two years of billing history. You have access to tables and graphs that display your energy usage and charges.
  • Compare your current bill with your bill from the same time last year or from the previous month.
  • Learn about billing and payment options.

How can I get more detail about my company's energy use?
Greater detail is available at your fingertips. For example, My Account Overview can provide a breakdown of your energy use and show what percent was used for various operations — from lighting to heating or cooling and ventilation.

To have this information displayed graphically each time you log in to My Account Overview, complete the free online Energy Analysis at wisconsinpublicservice.com/business/analysis.aspx. You will need to enter general information about your facility, equipment, operating hours, etc. If you want a deeper analysis, you can continue answering additional questions about your building and equipment.

After you finish, you will receive:
  • Personalized energy-saving solutions — no-cost and low-cost suggestions, plus projects that cost more upfront but will yield greater energy savings over time. If you implement any of these projects, you can track them online and monitor the direct impact they have on your bills.
  • Examples of how similar companies are saving energy.

You also will have an opportunity to compare your energy use with other businesses. This helps assess how much improvement is reasonable.
