Butterflies & Friends Are On Parade in Green Bay
(Energy News - September 2009)
A community-wide art exhibit is delighting audiences this summer in Green Bay. The annual Butterflies & Friends on Parade features aluminum and fiberglass art pieces representing butterflies, frogs and turtles. Wisconsin Public Service is an art piece sponsor.
The art will be auctioned during the Butterflies & Friends on Parade event finale at the KI Convention Center on October 6, 2009. All proceeds from the auction benefit the Einstein Project, a nonprofit school-business-community partnership dedicated to improving the quality of science education for K-8 students across the state. If you are unable to attend the auction, you can bid on one or more art pieces by submitting an absentee bid form. For questions, call 920-884-8800.
Nearly 30 artists where chosen from a record 98 applicants to create art pieces for the auction. Their works were unveiled in June and placed along the Fox River in downtown Green Bay for public viewing over the summer.
Admission to the Butterflies & Friends on Parade event is $10, which includes light hors d'oeuvres. Doors open at 5 p.m. with an opportunity to meet the artists. The auction begins at 6:30 p.m. For more details, visit einsteinproject.org.
