What Is Gas Choice?
Gas Choice is an expansion of the gas transportation service WPSC has offered to large natural gas users for some time now. These customers shop for the best gas supply price and have WPSC deliver the gas, potentially saving on their natural gas bill.

Gas Choice is designed to make this choice in gas suppliers an economical option for smaller businesses.

Who Is Eligible For Gas Choice?
Gas Choice is available to businesses who:

  • are customers of Wisconsin Public Service, and
  • use 5,000 or more therms of natural gas per year, per meter.

Customers interested in Gas Choice should sign up by March 1 to begin transporting natural gas on the following Nov. 1.

How Reliable Is the Service I Will Receive?
If you're eligible for Gas Choice and choose a natural gas supplier other than WPSC, you will need to discuss the reliability of your gas supply with your new supplier. We'll do everything possible to maintain gas supply to your company, even if your supplier fails to deliver gas on your behalf — but we can't guarantee that supply.

Anytime your supplier fails to deliver enough gas for your company, you may be subject to fees or penalties. The responsibility for paying these fees or penalties also needs to be negotiated between you and your gas supplier.

In summary, choosing a gas supplier other than WPSC brings both potential benefits and risks:

How Do I Sign Up with Another Natural Gas Supplier?
The sign-up period for Gas Choice runs from January 1 through March 1. You can then begin purchasing natural gas from the supplier of your choice on the following November 1.
