How Gas Flows From the Wellhead to Customers

ANR Pipeline Co. transports natural gas (for both firm and interruptible system sales customers, as well as gas transportation customers) from the wellhead to Wisconsin Public Service's distribution system.
ANR Pipeline meters the total amount of gas flowing to Public Service's distribution system.
Public Service distributes natural gas from its city gate station to its customers. Any difference between nominated deliveries and actual use must be balanced by Public Service each day. The utility is subject to additional charges from the pipeline when contract limits are reached because of high or low use.
The difference between nominated gas deliveries and actual gas usage is reconciled by injecting or withdrawing additional gas from Public Service's storage account in Michigan.
