- Why would I consider changing natural gas suppliers? I'm happy with WPS.
- With Gas Choice, WPS will always be one of your choices for gas supply. If you choose to stay with WPS for your gas supply, we will be pleased to continue serving you reliably and safely as we always have. The primary reason gas consumers consider changing suppliers is potential savings. (The cost of natural gas supply represents a significant portion of your monthly gas bill, with distribution charges making up the remainder.) In addition, alternate suppliers may offer other incentives, besides cost savings. The most important advice we can give regarding Gas Choice is to be an informed gas consumer. Ask questions, and be sure you understand your options before making a choice.
- How do I choose a natural gas supplier?
- Similar to when contracting with a supplier for any product or service, you should choose the gas supplier that best meets your individual needs. WPS can't recommend any particular supplier, but we can provide a list of suppliers we are aware of. You can find this list at Energy Information or contact us.
- What if I sign up with one gas supplier and then want to switch suppliers, or decide I no longer want to participate in Gas Choice?
- Your right to leave one gas supplier and switch to another supplier needs to be negotiated with your gas supplier. It's important to remember that if you do sign up with an alternate supplier and later decide to return to WPS for your gas supply, you'll need to let us know within the following timeframe: Notify WPS by March 1 of a given year to return to WPS gas supply on or after Nov. 1 of that same year.
