The Einstein Project: Electric Circuit Grant

WPS and The Einstein Project have partnered together to offer grants to a limited number of schools to experience the hands-on inquiry-based science education materials that inspire K-8 children to love science. Studies show using the Einstein science units help children retain what they've learned and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.

The WPS grant allows up to two teachers per school to receive The Einstein Project's Electric Circuits unit for 6 to 8 weeks for use in their 3rd to 5th grade classroom. In addition, the grant will pay the tuition for the teacher(s) to attend an Einstein training to learn how to teach this exciting and engaging science unit. This grant has up to a $300 value per teacher, and schools may request the grant for one or two teachers.

This is a one-year grant, with the option to apply for 50% funding the second year. After two years, the school would need to lease the units themselves (currently $220/unit rental fee + $21 shipping - the training is only required the first time a teacher uses the unit.)

Eligibility

  1. School must be within the WPS service area.
  2. School will not have used The Einstein Project Electric Circuits unit previously.
  3. Grant application must be complete and submitted by the deadline for consideration for the next funding period. Units will be scheduled for use based upon availability.

Applications are considered on a twice-a-year basis and must be received by The Einstein Project by close of business on November 15, 2011 or February 15, 2012.
