Tim Howard Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Tim Howard's outstanding contributions to the community, his instrumental role at WPS, and his commitment to the education of young people. Tim endured fatal injuries while restoring electricity in the Wausaukee area in May 2006.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be a high school senior or returning adult.
- Be a customer of WPS or be a graduating high school senior who is the son/daughter of an employee of WPS.
- Have applied to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
- Plan to enroll as a full-time student pursuing a degree in the Electrical Power Distribution program.
Awards
Each year this program will award one $1,000 non-renewable award to a student at NWTC. The scholarship award will be sent directly to the college and will be credited to the recipient's account.
Selection
Staff members of NWTC will select the scholarship recipient.
How to Apply
After March 1, fill out the official application form. Questions should be directed to Ms. Sandra Kraft, NWTC Foundation Director, at 800-422-6982, ext. 5426.
Deadline
Applications must be submitted by May 1.
Notification
Award recipients will be notified of their selection in July of 2011. Scholarships will be sent directly to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and applied directly to school costs starting in the fall term.
