October 2008 Weston 1 is preparing for installation of the "Separated Over Fire Air" equipment that will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions at the power generator by 40 to 50 percent. Energy Projects' Mark Spears inspects delivery of the equipment that will be installed in the next few weeks.

October 2008 The recently arrived nozzle heads on the low NOx burners are inspected by Mark Spears and Kelly Zagrzebski of WPS. The burners are part of a boiler modification that will reduce Nitrogen Oxide emissions at the plant by 40 to 50 percent.

October 2008 A large storage and laydown area is needed for all the equipment associated with the environmental retrofit emission control projects that will soon begin at Weston Unit 1. The project begins in fall of this year, and will involve retrofitting seven units in two different locations, the Weston Power Plant near Wausau and the Pulliam Power Plant in Green Bay.
