Minority and/or Female Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Grant
Purpose
To encourage minority / female students to enroll in technical programs at
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be the son/daughter of a customer with a primary residence in Wisconsin Public
Service Corporation or Upper Peninsula Power Company territory, or the son/daughter
of a Wisconsin Public Service or UPPCO employee.
- Apply to attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in one of the programs
listed below.
- Plan to enroll on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Be a High School Senior or Adult Returning to School.
Awards
Each year this program will award up to three $500 non-renewable grants to
non-traditional minority / female students at NWTC. Grant recipients will receive
the award as a tuition credit that will be applied to the second semester of the
2009-2010 academic year. Awards will be made based on a combination of merit and
financial need.
These Foundation scholarships will be awarded to minority / female students who
enroll at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in one of the following programs:
- Applied Engineering Technology
- Architectural Technology
- Automation Engineering Technology/ Mecomtronics
- Automotive Technician
- Civil Engineering Technology
- Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Technician
- Electrical Engineering Technology
- Electrical Power Distribution
- Electricity
- Electro-Mechanical Technology
- Electronics/ Biomedical Technology
- Gas Utility and Construction Service
- Mechanical Design Technician
- Power Engineering and Boiler Operator
- Prototype & Design
- Supply Chain Management
- Weld Inspection
- Welding

Deadline
Applications must be received by February 1, 2009.
Notification
Award recipients will be notified of their selection in March of 2009. Grants
will be sent directly to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and applied directly to
school costs starting in the 2009 fall term.
