Dollars for Doers

Dollars for Doers

The purpose of the Dollars for Doers Program is to encourage our employees and retirees to volunteer for their favorite qualifying organization and have the benefiting organization receive a grant on behalf of the employee. The Dollars for Doers program is funded by the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, Inc. and has been around since July of 2001.

Employees and retirees who contribute at least 20 hours of volunteer time to qualifying organizations can have up to $100 donated to the nonprofit organization of their choice. The maximum of $100 can be split among two organizations ($50-$50). The qualifying organizations are the same ones that are eligible for the Matching Gift Program.

Each organization should serve within the company's operating territory and must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

The program focuses on organizations assisting with arts and culture, community and civic affairs, health and human services, and the environment. Contributions to educational institutions and faith based organizations are not eligible for inclusion in the Dollars For Doers program at this time. View the list of eligible organizations.

The Dollars For Doers fiscal year is January 1 through December 31. Requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the program's annual limit is reached. Since 2001, the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation has donated over $55,000 to eligible organizations.

An employee or retiree needs to submit a Dollars For Doers request form [PDF: 110KB / 2 pages] to the nonprofit organization by December 31 of each year.

Questions should be directed to the Dollars for Doers program coordinator, Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, 920-433-5522.
