Winners of the naming contest and their families were invited to attend and participate in the banding of the chicks, which was held on Thursday, May 25, 2006. They had their photograph taken with the falcon chicks, and received a class field trip to the Neville Public Museum.
Jesse - submitted by Dale Saenger, 3rd grader at Zion Lutheran School in Wayside. Dale chose the name because that is the name of the leather strap used to handle birds.
Amelia - submitted by Kate Ubl, 6th grader at Hortonville Middle School. She submitted "Amelia" after Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean because she embraced our ability to soar with the birds.
Buck's Free - submitted by Allie Elbe, 2nd grader at Holy Cross School. Allie chose "Buck's Free" in honor of her grandfather who passed away and he was also an employee at the Pulliam Plant.
