Teachers will have two opportunities in 2007 to attend training workshops for the completely revised and updated SolarWise for Schools renewable energy curriculum.
This workshop will be an excellent introduction to the revised curriculum for new and veteran SolarWise teachers alike. The workshop is free and available to teachers at any SolarWise school. Teachers at schools that have just been selected for the SolarWise program are strongly encouraged to attend, and "new" teachers at "old" SolarWise schools are also invited. The date for this workshop will be posted here soon.
Are you looking for a fun, affordable way to earn graduate credit next summer in a beautiful Wisconsin setting? Join us June 25-27 at Trees for Tomorrow in Eagle River for a three-day SolarWise workshop! This one-credit graduate class will offer expanded, in-depth training in the use of the revised SolarWise for Schools curriculum. Teachers who attend will receive the entire SolarWise for Schools curriculum package and will be thoroughly trained in its classroom use. A renewable energy field trip is planned.
For this course, teachers will pay $100 toward the cost of one graduate credit through the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Wisconsin Public Service will pay all other costs (remaining tuition, meals, lodging, etc.).
Teachers from high schools that are eligible for the SolarWise program are welcome to apply even if your school has not been selected for the program. This class will give you everything you need to bring solar education into your classroom, including hands-on experiments, materials, and training from an outstanding SolarWise veteran.
Application materials are available through Trees for Tomorrow. Please apply early as there are a limited number of openings and this class is expected to fill quickly.
