Air Permit Re-Hearing

Air Permit Approval

29th District State Senator Russell Decker (blue shirt) and 12th District State Senator Roger Breske (white shirt) testified in support of not reopening the already approved air permit for the Weston 4 power plant which is now under construction. A public re-hearing was held in the Marathon County Courthouse on August 1, 2005. The Sierra Club requested the re-hearing. 33 people testified representing local government, union labor, electric cooperatives, local suppliers, chambers of commerce, town associations and economic development. 30 were in favor of not re-opening the air permitting process and 3 were in favor of a more stringent air permit. Two of those opposed were student interns of the Sierra Club.
