Natural Gas and Electric Meter Installation
We will install both natural gas and electric meters at the same time (for those areas where Wisconsin Public Service provides both services). The meter(s) will be set as soon as the installation occurs and before the fuel piping and pressure test occur. Standard gas utilization pressure for a residence is 7" w.c. (water column). Billing begins as soon as the meters are set.
- The tag on the right will be hung on the meter at the time the meter is set.
- Please be aware that WPS now installs and sets meters at the same time.
- It is very important that a qualified individual takes responsibility that the gas fuel piping has been pressure tested (National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1), has no leaks, and all openings are plugged and capped.
- This must be done prior removing the tag and opening the valve.
