Reading your gas or electric meter is as easy as reading a clock. The dials, which look like little clocks, alternately run clockwise and counterclockwise. Reading from left to right, just write down the last number the needle has passed. The difference between the new reading and the last one is your monthly energy consumption.
Wisconsin Public Service has installed Automated Meter Reading in all communities we serve. These meters feature a special transmitting device that sends your monthly usage reading over our power lines to a central computer in Green Bay. This has improved meter reading accuracy and significantly reduced estimated readings.
With Automated Meter Reading you will no longer need to submit meter readings.
There are times when we may be unable to read your meter. At these times, we may need to estimate your bill, based on past usage and recent weather conditions. Any differences automatically will be made up for at your next meter reading, which will show your actual two-month usage.
