Service Installation Requirements for My Home

Before service and meters can be installed, the following conditions need to be met:

A site sketch and liability waiver form or survey map must be sent to Wisconsin Public Service.
The construction site and building foundation must be back-filled to within 6" of final grade.
The service route is to be cleared 10' wide of brush, etc.
The electric meter base must be installed.
The gas meter location must be clearly marked.
An inspection report from a State of Wisconsin certified electrical inspector or a wiring compliance statement from the electrician needs to be received by WPS.
Easements need to be signed and on file with Wisconsin Public Service.
All service construction charges in Wisconsin must be paid in advance if cost is equal to or greater than $1,000. In Michigan all service construction charges equal to or greater than $25.00 are to be paid in advance.
