Service Installation Requirements for My Business or Farm
Before service can be installed, the following requirements must be met:
- Final building site plan must be emailed to gisland@wisconsinpublicservice.com
(electronic version in Microstation or Autocad format) or sent to
WPS via WPSC GIS Services PO Box 19001
Green Bay WI 54307 (paper version).
- Smaller jobs without an architectural building site plan can e-mail or fax a
site sketch to
WPS Business Solutions Center
or fax to 800-305-9754.
- A load survey must be completed.
- The construction site and building foundation must be back-filled to within
6" of final grade.
- The service route must be cleared to 10' wide.
- The electric meter base must be installed.
- The minimum cure time before setting a transformer is 7 days.
- Either an electrical inspection or a certificate of compliance is required
dependent on the requirements set forth by the local municipality. Please check
with the municipality.
- The gas meter location must be clearly marked.
- Any private underground facilities must be marked and paths located.
- Permits and easements will need to be signed and on file with WPS.
- All service construction charges in WI must be paid in advance of construction
if the cost is greater than $1000.00. In MI, all service construction charges equal
to or greater than $25.00 must be paid in advance of construction.
