Rewire affordability

This Farm Rewiring program is the most supportive rewiring program you'll find in Wisconsin.

On dairy farms WPS will pay 100% of the first $1,000 of costs, which should cover the cost of the inspection. Next, WPS will pay 50% of the remaining costs up to a maximum grant of $10,000 (including the initial $1,000). On livestock farms WPS pays the first $1,000 of costs, then will pay 50% of the remaining costs up to a maximum grant of $5,000 (including the initial $1,000).

Two financing examples

Let's use a $20,000 rewiring project as an example on a dairy farm. WPS will pay 100% of the first $1,000, which should cover the cost of the inspection and time associated with bids. Next, the utility will pay 50% of the $19,000 balance, up to a total grant of $10,000.

$20,000.00   (Total cost of rewiring project)
– 1,000.00   (WPS pays 100% of the first $1,000)
$19,000.00
– 9,000.00   (WPS pays 50% of balance up to a maximum $10,000 grant)
$10,000.00   (Amount you pay.)

A second example involves a $9,000 livestock project. WPS will pay 100% of the first $1,000 and split the $8,000 balance with you 50/50 up to a $5,000 maximum. You are responsible for $4,000.

$9,000.00   (Total cost of rewiring project)
– 1,000.00   (WPS pays 100% of the first $1,000)
$8,000.00
– 4,000.00   (WPS pays 50% of balance up to a maximum $5,000 grant)
$4,000.00   (Amount you pay.)
